Special Appeal for Ukraine

For this purpose, a special collection will be taken up in all Catholic Churches in Europe this weekend. 50% of the ordinary SHARE Collection will be donated to the Pope’s appeal, and I ask for your generosity.

 

Do This in Memory Programme

The next Mass for the Do This in Memory Programme will take place on Sunday 1st May @ 11.30am. Preparation meeting on Tuesday 26th April @ 8pm in the Church.

World Youth Day Cake Sale

Our parish now have ten young people going to the World Youth celebrations in Krakow, Poland in July. Four pupils from St. Joseph’s Sec. School are joining with 6 members of our Parish Youth Choir. This is a great opportunity for them to deepen their faith and meet other committed young Catholics from all over the world. Our next parish effort to help with the costs is a cake sale after all Masses next weekend Apr.30th/May 1st. Please come and support. There will be tea/coffee and scrumptious cakes!!

St. Vincent De Paul Clothing Appeal

The Society is seeking your help with our annual appeal for second-hand clothing. The appeal is for clean, good quality clothes, bedclothes, curtains, shoes etc. There will be bags available outside the church on 30th April and 1st May.

Irish Guide Dogs

The Balbriggan/North County Dublin branch of Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind are seeking volunteers to help sell their guide dog pins inside of Tesco’s of Rush on Friday 6th May and Saturday 7th May. Depending on how many volunteers we get we will go from 9.30am to 6.30pm or so. Any length of time you can give will be taken up. St Peregrine Healing Mass

A Healing Mass in honour of St Peregrine, Patron Saint for cancer patients  will take place in St Patrick’s Church Skerries on Monday, 25th April & 7.30pm.The Sacrament of the Sick will be administered during Holy Mass, followed with a Blessing with the relic of St Peregrine. All

Loughshinny & Rush Historical Society

The Loughshinny & Rush Historical Society Summer Outing is on Sat. 11th June visiting Ardagh Heritage Centre, Longford, St. Mel’s Cathedral and Tullynally Castle and Gardens.  Cost €50 (incl. morning coffee and evening dinner. To book phone Vera at 087 7416719. All welcome.

 

Centenary Commemoration

fingal remembersFingal County Council has organised a 1916 Centenary Commemoration Event in Swords this Sunday 24th April.  As part of the day there will be a special event to commemorate the role played by the women of Fingal in the 1916 Rising with a short cycle, called “Rothaíocht na mBan”, along Brackenstown Road to Main Street Swords, starting at 3.15pm at the playing pitches on Brackenstown Road. All are welcome to come out along the route to cheer the cyclists on.  There will be a parade later at 4.45pm on Main Street, followed by re-enactments and entertainment in Swords Town Park.
