Year of Consecrated Life – 30th November ’14 – 2nd February’16.
On Saturday 30 January the 7pm Mass will be Celebrated for the Priests, Brothers and Sisters from ourparish and the Religious Sisters who have served and are serving in our Community at this time. With this in mind the Parish Council would like if you have a son or daughter, brother, sister or relative serving in the Religious Life to leave their name, address and contact number in the Parish office so we may invite them to this special celebration.
St. Joseph’s Secondary School
Students and teachers of the school wish to thank the local community for their support and very generous donations for their upcoming Uganda Immersion Project in March. Your funds will help towards the continuing challenges faced by communities in the developing world.
Parish Shop
The opening hours for the Parish Shop are 9am – 1pm. just In the Parish Office you can: book an Anniversary Mass, get a Mass card, register for baptism preparation, find out more about getting married in our Parish, register for our weekly Planned Giving Envelopes, order Letters of Freedom, Baptism Certificates, Marriage Certificates or make an appointment to see a member of the Parish Team. “In the Tender Embrace of God’s Mercy” in memory of Fr Seamus Cullen on sale in the shop.
Baptisms for Sunday 14th and 28th February
Preparation meeting on Wednesday 10th at 7.30pm. Deadline for applications is Monday 8th February. Please note that godparents/sponsors must be baptised Catholics and over 16 years of age. See the parish website for more information.
Planned Giving Envelope Collection 17th January
The amount collected last Sunday in the envelope collection amounted to €1180.00.. Thank you for your generosity.

Confession times are at 6:30p.m. before Saturday evening Mass and on request.
Invitation from Jesus
Come adore the Lord in silent prayer all day Thursday from 7am – 10pm. Would you like to commit to a set hour or be on a substitute list or just come along any time during the day to pray in silent adoration. Leave name, address and phone number in post box.
Julian Prayer Group
The Julian Prayer Group will meet the Confirmation pupils from the four Primary Schools in the Parish over the next six weeks to lead them in a Day of Reflection. We start on Tuesday January 26th with the pupils from St. Catherine’s N.S.
St Vincent De Paul
The SVP Monthly Collection will take place at al Masses next weekend January 30th / 31st.
Rush Senior Citizens Club
The club will re-open on 25th January 2016 at 2p.m. – 4pm. New members welcome to come and see if you like what we do, afternoon tea, fun bingo etc.
Do This in Memory Programme
The next Mass will be on Sunday January 31st at 11.30a.m. Preparation meeting will take place on Tuesday January 26th at 8p.m. in the Day Chapel.
Bible Study with Fr. Kieran O’Mahony
Bible study (Jesus in Jerusalem at the Feasts – John 5-10) will take place in Lusk Parish Centre on Tuesdays 10.00-12.00 on the following dates: Jan 26th: March 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd: April 1st & 8th. See Poster on Church Notice board.
World Youth Day
Six members of the Rush Youth choir will travel to Krakow, Poland, August 2016, to represent St Maur’s parish and join in celebrations for World Youth Day with His Holy Father, Pope Francis. The members will also partake in a ‘Leadership’ programme for young adults to learn how to be active and faith leaders with young people, which will be a wonderful asset for our parish. Over the coming months we will have various fundraising projects going on and we would appreciate support in whatever way from all the community. Loughshinny & Rush Historical Society
The Loughshinny & Rush Historical Society are proud to present A Talk by Seán O’Gorman entitled: “In Memory of Nurse Elizabeth O’Farrell 1883-1959”, at the Strand Bar on Thursday 28th January at 8.15p.m. sharp. All are welcome.
Rush Library
Computer classes are starting on Monday February 1st. There will be two sessions beginning at 2p.m. and 3.15p.m. and will run for eight weeks. Also on Wednesday January 27th at 6.30p.m. Stella O’Malley, author of “Cotton Wool Kids” about childhood and parenting in Ireland today, will be giving a Free Talk based upon her book entitled “Raising Happy Kids in an Anxious World, everyone is welcome to attend.
