Parish Shop

The opening hours for the Parish Shop are 9am – 1pm.  This year we have Rush Parish Christmas Cards at just €1 each and signed Mass Christmas Cards available. In addition the office stocks Advent Calendars, scented Christmas candles, Snow globes, Children’s Bibles and many more gift items available. Don’t forget that by visiting the Parish Office you can: book an Anniversary Mass, get a Mass card, register for baptism preparation, find out more about getting married in our Parish, register for our weekly Planned Giving Envelopes, Order letters of Freedom, Baptism Certificates, Marriage Certificates or make an appointment to see a member of the Parish Team.

 

 

Christmas List of Remembrance

Names of the Faithful Departed will be written in a special book which will be placed near the altar for all Masses from Thursday Dec 24th to Mon Dec 28th.  All names of deceased loved ones will be remembered at these Masses. Names can be left in the parish office or church letter box only. No names will be announced at masses during this period.

 

 

CrossCare Dublin Diocesan Food Appeal:Crosscare-logo

Hundreds of people in our communities are in urgent need of help. For the past number of months the Crosscare Food Bank has not been able to keep up with demand for food from people in need all over Dublin. Further info on notice board.

 

 

St. Vincent De Paul:

The Annual collection will take place next weekend Sat 12th and Sun 13th December.

 

 

Balbriggan & District Horticultural Society:

Christmas Flower arranging Demonstration by Margaret Curtis on Thur 10th December at 8.30pm in the Scouts Den, Market Green, Balbriggan (beside Lidl) Admission €5.

 

 

Refreshments after Mass

One of the initiatives is to provide refreshments after the 11.30 am mass on Sunday once a month. All welcome to join us today.

 

 

Planned Giving Envelopes

Thanks to all who have returned the cards from the box of envelopes. Could we askPlanned Givingthose who wish to remain anonymous to write this on the card and return it, as it’s required for control purposes. Perhaps we should mention, that those who open and count the weekly envelopes do not have access to the names of subscribers. As the envelope collection is the only source of income to the parish, boxes will be available for new subscribers on the tables beside the missalettes.

Planned Giving Envelope Collection 29th November: Last Sunday’s envelope collection amounted to €1260.00. Thank you for your generosity.

 

 

Baptisms for Sunday 13th and 27th December

Preparation meeting on Wednesday 9th December at 7:30 p.m. Deadline for applications is Monday 7th December. Please note that godparents/sponsors must be baptised Catholics and over 16 years of age. See the parish website for more information.

 

 

Confession times

Confession times are at 6:30p.m. before Saturday evening Mass and on request.

 

 

The Children’s Liturgy

Childrens-liturgy-of-the-word-imageChildren’s Liturgy resumed last Sunday 8th November for Children aged 5 to 12 years. We would be delighted to see new children along with those who have attended previously.  Parents are welcome to accompany their children if they wish.  Any adults interested in becoming involved please contact the office or Sharon at 086 3884998. We would be delighted to see new faces.

 

Invitation from Jesus

Come adore the Lord in silent prayer all day Thursday from 7am – 10pm.  Would you like to commit to a set hour or be on a substitute list or just come along any time during the day to pray in silent adoration. Leave name, address and phone number in post box.

 

 

St Maurs Parish Christmas Carol Service

Our parish Christmas Carol service will take place on TUESDAY DEC 15th at 7.30pm in St Maurs Church. It will be a celebration of Christmas in words and song, and will involve all the parish schools, as well as the Church choirs and readers from around the parish. All are welcome to come and join the celebration. The St Vincent de Paul will be accepting gifts on the night. All new toys and non-perishable food items would be gratefully received. If gifts are wrapped please note the age range and if they are suitable for a boy or girl.

 

Christmas Day Swim:

The Christmas Day Swim takes place at Rush Sailing Club, Rogerstown promptly at 11:30 a.m. on ChristmasDay. For details contact 086 854 2220. All in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.

Congratulations to Caroline Fannin and Wayne Carrick who got married last week.

 

Deaths:

We extend our deepest sympathy to the families of Nano Leonard and Thomas Hatch who passed away this week. May they rest in peace.

 

Acknowledgement:
