Completed lists will be placed at the Cross on the Altar during the month of November. An offering enclosed with the completed list is kindly accepted.

Planned Giving Envelope Collection

Planned Giving Envelope Collection 8th November: The amount collected last Sunday in the envelope collection amounted to €2,635 thank you for your generosity.

 

 

Baptisms for Sunday 13th and 27th December

Preparation meeting on Wednesday 9th December at 7.30 p.m. Deadline for applications is Monday 7th December. Please note that godparents/sponsors must be baptised Catholics and over 16 years of age. See the parish website for more information. We welcome into our Community Zara Una O’Neill, Oscar Eugene McCann, Cian Thomas Byrne Barrett, Mara Julie McDonnell, Alexandra Radu who were baptised on Sun,8th Nov.

 

 

Parish Office

The hours of the Parish Office are from 9am – 1pm from Monday to Friday. In the Parish Office you can: book parishofficean anniversary mass, get a mass card, register for baptism preparation, find out more about getting married in our Parish, register for our weekly Planned Giving Envelopes, order letters of Freedom, baptism certificates, marriage certificates or make an appointment to see a member of the Parish Team.  New Special Graveside candles now in stock for the month of November @ €2.50 each.  Rush Parish Christmas Cards are available in the Parish Office this weekend.

 
 

Invitation from Jesus

Come adore the Lord in silent prayer all day Thursday from 7am – 10pm.  Would you like to commit to a set hour or be on a substitute list or just come along any time during the day to pray in silent adoration. Leave name, address and phone number in post box.

 
 

The Children’s Liturgy

Childrens-liturgy-of-the-word-imageChildren’s Liturgy resumed last Sunday 8th November for Children aged 5 to 12 years. We would be delighted to see new children along with those who have attended previously.  Parents are welcome to accompany their children if they wish.  Any adults interested in becoming involved please contact the office or Sharon at 086 3884998. Getting Married in Church

If you plan on getting married in Church please look up the Parish Website under Weddings. Keep in mind theThe groom and the bride with candles. Wedding ceremony in churchfollowing:

  • Provisional booking of church for marriage forms are available in the Parish Office. Forms must be filled in by the couple only and a final booking re. date is made with the administrator of the Parish when the booking form is received.
  • Pre nuptial enquiry forms are to be completed 3 months before a wedding takes place. This includes weddings taking place outside of the parish.
  • A Pre marriage course has to be attended by the couple. This is now a diocesan requirement and there are No exceptions. Not all marriage courses are accepted by the diocese. Please look up the Parish Website or the Archdiocese of Dublin Website under Weddings or call into the Parish Office for further information. The Archdiocese recommends the pre-marriage courses provided by Accord.

The Julian Group

The Julian Group will continue its programme with the Confirmation pupils on Tues. Nov 17th. This week’s Scripture Reading will be: The Prodigal Son: A Spirit of Forgiveness (Luke 15: verses 11-24).

Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) November Meeting

The meeting was held on Mon. Nov 9th. Items discussed included: Child Safe Guarding; Set up of Funeral Team; Year of Mercy Initiatives; World Youth Day; Celebration of Consecrated Life & Christmas Preparations. The PPC welcomed six new members. The members at present are: Fr. Peter, Nicola McManus(Chairperson), Des Bollard(Secretary), Mairéad Monks, Catherine Leonard, Jim Kilgarriff, Noeleen Forkan, Gerry Luccan, Carol Hoey, Kathleen O’Brien, Darragh Bollard and Pamela Dowling.

Art Exhibitions:

An Exhibition of Paintings by Jim Kilgarriff is opening in Rush Library on Mon. Nov 16th at 6 30p.m. It runs until the Nov 28th. All welcome.

Ros Eó Art Group are holding a Christmas Art Exhibition on Main Street Rush (beside Ocean Inn) from Nov. 20th – 30th 11a.m. to 5p.m. daily. The exhibition will feature a variety of themes, including scenes of local interest.
