Let’s Talk Family! Let’s Be Family!

As part of the preparation for  World Meeting of Families the Parish Pastoral Council are running 6 sessions on Let’s Talk Family over Lent using engaging short videos, animations and activities to encourage discussion, it will offer us as a parish a time to think about our vision and hopes for family and marriage, and a chance to rediscover the gift that family is to the world.

The programme will also challenge us to reflect on how we can provide greater support for marriage and family in our local communities.  In particular, Pope Francis has asked us to think about support for newly married couples and outreach to families in need. Who should attend? If you have a child preparing for a sacrament (baptism, communion, and confirmation) it’s for you!

First session begins  Wednesday 7th March at 7:30pm in Day chapel.

Rally for Life

This year’s All-Ireland for Life is taking place in Dublin on 10th March 2p.m. at Parnell Square, Dublin 1.The Rally is a chance for pro-lifers in Ireland to make their voices heard. This year it is important that we make a positive statement for life in Dublin. It is vital that Ireland unites around the common understanding that human life is valuable at every stage. Is it almost certain now that we will have a referendum in May which seeks to strip away rights from pre-born children. We need to stand together to Celebrate Life and call for a better answer than abortion. Fingal for Life , a local pro-life group, are holding two information evenings on why it is essential to save the 8th Amendment. The first one will be in St. Brigid’s Parish Centre, Rolestown, 8.00p.m. Tuesday 13th March.  Speakers include Caroline Simons, Pro Life Campaign and Fr. William R. Dailey, Notre Dame lecturer in law. The second evening will be in the Carnegie Court Hotel, Swords, at 7.45pm,  Tuesday 20th March. Speakers include David Quinn, Journalist and Director of Iona Institute and Niamh Ní Bhriain, Director of Life Institute. Choose Life 2018: Each week we will issue some copies of the resource from the Catholic Communications Office. Its purpose is to encourage discussion in families on the value of every human life. Issue 2 is printed and available beside the newsletter.
