Harvest Sunday

Harvest Sunday 7th October: Harvest Gifts, Vegetables and Fruit on the altar have been donated by growers and farmers of the Parish. We thank them for their participation in our Harvest Festival. We invite parishioners to take home some produce after masses. Donations are welcome and will be passed to the Society of St. Vincent De Paul.

 

Blessing of Animals:

Blessing of the Animals will take place today Sunday 7th October from 1p.m to 1.30p.m.

 

Planned Giving Envelope Collection:

Envelope collection for Sunday 30th September amounted to €1160.Thank you for your generosity.

Opening Hours Mon- Fri 9a.m. – 11a.m. Any Daily Mass Intentions left in please also include a phone number. Any Intentions for weekend Masses need to be left into the office by 12 p.m. on Thursday to be included in the Altar list.

 

The Julian Group

The Julian Group will commence its programme with the Confirmation candidates of the primary schools in the Parish on Tues Oct 9th. The Scripture Reading for discussion this week will be The Annunciation (Luke 1: verses 26-38). The programme will continue for eight weeks.

 

Acknowledgment:

The family of the late James Weldon would like to thank most sincerely all who sympathised with us in our recent bereavement. A special thanks to neighbours, friends and colleagues who attended the funeral mass and wake, who sent cards and flowers and helped in other ways.

Our huge gratitude to Dr Eva Eyged, Emma and Amelia, the Nurses in Rush Health Centre, the Ambulance team and to Dr Gumbrielle and the ICU team in Beaumont Hospital. We would also like to thank Fr.  Kevin especially for his comforting words to us and for celebrating the Funeral Mass, as well as Aisling and Liam for the wonderful music and Fitzgeralds Funeral Directors for their help and guidance. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions, 

 

Friendly Voices

Friendly Voices is a music group that comprises of Transition Year students and Senior Citizens. We practice on Mondays in St. Joseph’s secondary school from 11-12pm. We have a cuppa and a chat before we get stuck into singing.

 

Gospel of Luk

The Lusk Parish Centre are offering interested parties, a chance to explore the Gospel of Luke together in a relaxing setting every Tuesday 10am – 12pm starting on October 16th. Presenter Kieran O’Mahony OSA.

 

An Evening of Prayer, Music & Reflection 

Join us on Monday 15th October at 8.00pm in the Monastery of St. Alphonsus for an evening of prayer, music and reflection which will explore the call to holiness of Pope Francis – Rejoice and be Glad. The Prayer Service will be prepared by the part-time  Chaplaincy students of DCU  with music by the Dublin Diocesan Music Group or view on www.rednuns.com.

 

Bethany Bereavement Support Group 

Residential Weekend by Fr. Myles O’Reilly S.J. and the Bethany Bereavement Support Group – takes place in Manresa Retreat Centre, 426 Clontarf Road, Dollymount, Dublin 3 from Friday 23rd November at 7.30pm until Sunday 25th November at 4.30pm. This weekend explores the loss of our loved ones and the meaning of death. Cost is €225.00 per person (deposit €50.00). Ring 0872050514 or email bethanysupport@eircom.net. This cost can be subsidized by the Bethany General Executive Council if needed.

World War One Commemorating the End
