Confirmations:

Congratulations to the boys and girls from St. Brendan’s N.S and St. Catherine’s N.S who received the sacrament of Confirmation on Friday from Bishop Ray Field. Thank you to Bishop Field for coming to the Parish to confer this special sacrament. Thank you to the teachers and staff of St Brendan’s N.S and St. Catherine’s N.S, the Parents and The Julian Group who together prepared these young people. Thank you to all who decorated the Church and who worked in so many other ways to make it a special Parish Celebration.

May Devotions:

Join us in prayer for our Nation and the protection of life each evening of May. A Rosary and Holy hour of Adoration will be held nightly from 7 pm – 8 pm in the Day Chapel. Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will be celebrated each Saturday after 7 pm mass and Wednesday at 8 pm throughout the month. We extend a warm welcome and invitation to all parishioners to join with us in prayer as we ask the Holy Spirit to guide our Nation at this important moment in our history. “We ask Mary our Mother to mantle in her Love all expectant mothers and their babies, especially those in difficult situations. Amen”

Appeal for door/door canvassers to retain Article 40.3.3 of the Constitution on May 25th.  If you have been following the Pro Life arguments and would like to get involved in the canvass please leave your name, phone number, email address at the parish office. The local co-ordinator will contact you. All are welcome.

 

Planned Giving Envelope Collection:

Envelope collection for Sunday 22nd April amounted to €890. Thank you for your generosity.

 

Easter Dues and Easter Offerings:

Thanks to all who have contributed their Easter Offerings so far. The Easter Donations continue to be received in the coming weeks, we encourage each household to make their Easter donation. Acknowledgements will be issued to all donors so please supply your name and address.

 

Mighty May Disco

Mighty May Disco with special guest Mr Bubbles!! Monday 7th May, 3-5pm, St Maur’s GAA hall, tickets 5euro available at the door. Coffee and sweet shop. All proceeds for Gaelscoil Ros Eó. 

 

Vocations Sunday:

The Diocesan collection for vocations to the priesthood takes place on Sunday 29th April and replaces the Share Collection.  Vocations Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to promote and pray for vocations in our Church.

 

Acknowledgement:

The family of the late Bernie Mahoney would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone for their kind expressions of sympathy and support during our time of loss. To neighbours and friends and to all who called to the house and attended the funeral. A special word of thanks to the emergency services and medical staff for their care and kindness during Bernie’s last moments. A thank you also to Fitzgerald’s Funeral Directors for all their help. A special thank you to Patricia Hayden and Dr James Reilly, staff and pupils of St. Joseph’s Secondary School for their many visits and kind acts. And a thank you to Fr Kevin for all his help and kindness to all the family. The holy sacrifice of the mass will be offered for all your intentions.

Emmanuel 2018 Rescheduled Dates

The Encounter
