Easter Triduum Planning Meeting:
A meeting to co-ordinate the Easter ceremonies will take place tomorrow Monday 10th April at 7.30pm in the Day Chapel. The leaders of all the ministries are requested to attend. If they cannot be there personally please ensure that a representative is delegated to attend in place of them.
Easter Timetable:
A copy of all the Holy Week ceremonies is available to take home. You will find them beside the Mass missalettes.
Holy Week Confessions:
Penitential Services are as follows: Monday 10th April in Skerries. Tuesday 11th April in Lusk. Wednesday 12th April in Rush. All penance services begin at 7.30pm. Individual confession on Holy Thursday, April 13th, after 8 pm mass. Good Friday, April 14th after the 3pm celebration of the Lords Passion.
Easter Altar List of The Dead:
Names of the Faithful Departed will be written in a special book which will be placed near the altar for all masses during the Easter Octave. All names of deceased loved ones will be remembered at these masses. Names can be left in the parish office or Church letter box. No individual names will be announced at masses during this period.
Easter Mass Bouquet Cards:
A selection of Easter Cards are now available in the Parish office.
Easter Dues:
People contributing to the Parish Planned Giving will find the Easter dues envelope inside their planned giving box. Parishioners who are not participating in the planned giving can contribute their Easter dues of the church. These can be returned through the post-box or to the Parish Office or sacristy.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament:
Every Thursday from 7a.m. to 10p.m.& every Sunday of Lent from 2p.m. to 5p.m.
Parish Office:
Opening Hours: 9a.m. – 11a.m. Mon – Fri. Please note the office will be closed Monday 10th April, Friday 14th April, Thursday 20th and Friday 21st April. All queries regarding Baptisms, Weddings, etc. to go through the office. Confirmation medals and rosettes now available. Any Daily Mass Intentions left in please also include a phone number. Any Intentions for weekend Masses need to be left into the office by 12 p.m. on Thursday to be included in Altar list.
Advocate Collection:
Takes place this weekend 8th/9th April for Sunshine House. Thank you for your support.
Healing Mass:
In honour of St. Peregrine (Patron saint of Cancer). St Patrick’s Parish Church, Strand Street, Skerries. Monday 24th April at 7.30pm. The Sacrament of the sick will be administered to those afflicted with cancer after Holy Mass along with the blessing of the Relic of St. Peregrine.
Cross Care:
We would like to thank you for your most generous contribution to the Annual Collection for Cross care Youth Service. Our parish contributed €1930 for 2017. It is with our help and support that they continue to reach out to the needy in the diocese.
Acknowledgment:
The wife and family of the late Thomas (Tom) McCann would like to thank most sincerely Fr Kevin P.P for all his kindness coming to our home to say prayers both evening and morning of removal to the church. To thank all who sympathised with them on their recent sad loss, who attended the funeral mass and burial, who gave mass cards and floral arrangements. To our extended family and good neighbours and friends. Thank you to Dr Fergus Murray, Lusk Nursing Home Community Unit. The holy sacrifice of the mass will be offered for your intentions.
Anam Cara:
The organisation that supports bereaved parents is holding its next monthly Parent Evening on Wednesday 19th of April from 19:30 to 21:00 in B.A.S.E Brackenstown Road, Swords, Co. Dublin. This event is open to all bereaved parents regardless of the age your child died, the circumstances of their death, or whether the death was recent or not.
Outdoor Stations of the Cross – St. Catherine’s:
Every Good Friday at 12 noon we gather at the Portico of Kenure House. We walk prayerfully to Kenure Cemetery on the Skerries Road. As we walk along, we stop at each station which is re-enacted by local children. Please come along and join us at this family-friendly parish event.
Children’s Liturgy:
The Children’s Liturgy continues every Sunday until Easter. Children between the ages of 5 and 12 are very welcome to come along and join us for a child-friendly version of the Readings and Gospel in use each week, helping to give you a better understanding of what it is all about.
