Closing of the Holy Door

The Holy Door closes this weekend in our parish. It signifies the end of the “Year of Mercy.” During this year we have been invited by Pope Francis to open wider the door of mercy in our own hearts – firstly to receive Gods outpouring of mercy to us all and then to share this gift of mercy with each other.


Funeral Team

We intend to start training for a Parish Funeral Team in January. Would you consider joining the team to discern if God is calling you to support bereaved families and the Parish Community on this sensitive journey? Please leave your name and contact details with the Parish Office.

Gabriel Adams will be with us to promote the publication. She will be speaking at the masses this weekend.

Confession Times

Confession times are at 6:30p.m. before Saturday evening Mass and on request.


Christmas List of Remembrance:

Names of the Faithful Departed will be written in a special book which will be placed near the altar for all Masses from Saturday, Dec 24th to Wednesday, Dec 28th. All names of deceased loved ones will be remembered at these Masses. Names can be left in the parish office or church letter box only. No names will be announced at masses during this period.


Christmas Carol Service

This year’s Christmas Carol Service will take place on Tuesday 14th December @ 7.30pm.


November Altar List of the Dead

Envelopes for the Altar List of the Dead are available at the doors of the Church from this weekend. Please put the names on a slip of paper and put in envelope. Thank you.

Loughshinny and Rush Historical Society

The Loughshinny and Rush Historical Society are proud to present a talk by Matt Comiskey about his grandfather Tom, who fought “The Boer War and the First World War” and also his uncle Patsy who fought “In the battle of the Somme.” Venue: The Strand Bar, Rush on Thursday 24th November 2016 at 8p.m.


World Missions Ireland

On behalf of The Society for the Propagation of the Faith thank you for your support on Mission Sunday. The Mission Sunday Collection amounted to €1,655. Thank you for your generosity in difficult times.


BT Young Scientist

Recently Laura Weldon, Emma Kleiser Byrne and Sophie Weldon have been accepted in the BT Young Scientist competition for 2017. They are transition year students of Loreto Secondary School Balbriggan and are residents of Rush. Their project is based on whether or not, consuming certain variety of potatoes as a staple food in our diet increases blood glucose levels and chance of high blood pressure and diabetes. They are looking for participants for this project,please leave your details in the office if you would like to take part.



Without Christ there would be no Christmas. In the readings for the last week of Advent Isaiah says: "The Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel”. Immanuel literally means “God with us”. Come to “Rogerstown House” each Saturday of Advent from 10am until 12 noon and together let us celebrate the

Are you aged 5 to 12?

Children's Liturgy will resume at 11.30  Mass on Sunday 20th November. Children between
ages of 5 and 12 approximately are welcome to come along and join us for a Child-friendly version of the Readings and Gospel in use each week, helping to give you a better understanding of what It is all about.    You come along to Mass as normal and sit with your Parents. The Priest will then invite you to join members of the team at the top of the Church. We then move into the Meeting room via the Sacristy and re-join the main Mass at the Offertory Procession.
