This year’s collection takes place next weekend of the 17th and 18th September in place of the share collection. Our services depend heavily on the funds generated at the collection particularly in these tough economic times. Your contribution is greatly appreciated

Legion of Mary Annual Pilgrimage
The Legion of Mary Annual Pilgrimage to Knock Shrine, takes place Sunday 25th September. The Bus will leave Skerries Church at 7am. Pick up at Eurospar Rush at 7.15am. Contact Lorraine 087-6203317.
Prayer Group
Meetings will resume at 8pm on Monday 12th September in the Convent of Mercy, Convent Lane.
These meetings provide an opportunity to reflect on the following Sunday’s Scripture Readings, to share reflections and to pray together. All are welcome.
Child Safeguarding Training
The Parish Pastoral Council and The Child Safeguarding Officers have organised Child Safeguarding Training on Monday 17th and Monday 24th of October from 7pm to 9:30pm.
The training is split over two evenings and it is mandatory that Parish Clergy, Parish Staff, Sacristans, Safeguarding Reps, Volunteers who work directly or indirectly with children and the Chairperson of the Parish Pastoral Council attend both evenings.
Basic English Conversation Classes (Failte Isteach)
All are welcome and all levels are provided for. €2 per class. Friendly volunteer tutors. Tuesday mornings from September 20th, 10am to 12 noon. Friendly Faces
Friendly Faces recommences on Monday 12th September in St. Josephs School, Rush. This TY group welcomes any senior citizen who would enjoy tea/coffee and a chat, art classes, ukulele lessons, music and drama, ICT lessons, nails/make up. The group runs from 11.15 – 12.30. We hope to see you there.
Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind
An Garda have given Balbriggan/North County Dublin Branch of Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind a permit to collect outside St. Maur’s Church Rush on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September. All monies collected goes directly to train more guide dogs for blind people and more assistance dogs for families who have a child with Autism. All collectors are total volunteers and give freely of their time to support the charity and will have a copy of the Garda Permit on them for anybody to see. Millhill Ladies Badminton Club

Rush Library Herb Garden
Calling all GIYers, Tidy Towners, and anyone who can help. All ages welcome. Rush Library is getting a new herb garden and we need your help. Sat. Sept 17th 11-1.30pm. We need volunteers to help dig out the old plants and prepare the ground for planting. Please bring gloves and tools if you have them (spades, loppers, wheelbarrows). This is a Rush Community project supported by Rush GIY (Grow It Yourself).
