Emigration Sunday, (Sunday 11th October)

We remember in prayer those who have emigrated this Sunday. A display board is in the church and if Parishioners wish to place a prayer on the prayer book provided beneath the board and light a candle they can do so this Sunday.

 

Child SafeGuarding and Protection

An Information/Training Session on Child SafeGuarding and Protection Service will take place here in the Church on Saturday 24th Oct from 12 noon to 2.30pm. This information session is an important element in the ongoing development of our Child SafeGuarding and Protection Strategy in St. Maur’s. All adults involved in any aspect of Church ministry and volunteering are invited and encouraged to attend.

 

 

Parish Council Meeting

We welcome five people who were interested in joining the parish council last Monday evening. The council reviewed the last year’s events and at the next meeting will plan ahead for the next year.

 

Harvest ThanksgivingThankYou (1)

We wish to thank everyone who was involved in the Harvest last weekend. We thank Parishioners for their very supportive and kind comments. The fruit and vegetables that were donated have been distributed to St. Vincent De Paul and Crosscare.

 

Stations of the Cross

New wordings for the stations have been erected beside each station of the cross in the church. The new wordings are easy to read and are in fitting with the architecture of the church. The Parish Council wishes to thank all involved in this improvement.

 

Invitation from Jesus

Come adore the Lord in silent prayer all day Thursday from 7am – 10pm. Would you like to commit to a  set hour or be on a substitute list or just come along any time during the day to pray in silent adoration. Leave name, address and phone number in post box.

 

Upcoming Events

Mission Sunday, (Sunday 18th October) The second collection next Sunday is the Mission Sunday collection. This replaces the share collection. One of the sisters of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary will be speaking at mass.

The Group will continue its programme with the Confirmation pupils on Tuesday next, Oct 13th. This week’s Scripture Reading for discussion “The Finding in the Temple” (Luke 2)

 

Saturday Mass

There will be ONE Mass on Saturdays in October at 7pm. There will be no 10am Mass. Confessions will be available at 6.30p.m. on Sat evening.

There will be a Public Talk on Wednesday 14th October 2015 at 8.00 pm – by Brid Carroll – Counsellor and Psychotherapist  – COPING WITH LOSS, Clayton Hotel (formerly Bewley’s Hotel), Dublin Airport, Stockhole Lane, Swords.

 

Anam Cara

The Anam Cara group is holding a Bereavement Information Evening on Wednesday 21st of OctoberAnam Cara 2015 from 19:30 to 21:30 in Applewood Community Centre, Castleview Lawns/ Bunbury Gate Road, Swords, Co Dublin. The guest speaker for the evening is Patricia Wilson. All Anam Cara Services are available free of charge to bereaved parents. As you may be aware Fr Cullen has not been well and is under the care of his family at the moment. If you wish to leave in a get well card or a personal message you can leave them into the Parish Office and we will forward them onto him and his family.
