Feast of the Immaculate Conception

Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Blessed Virgin Mary) Holy Day of Obligation: Vigil Mass 7pm Friday, December 7th, Morning Mass 110 am Saturday December 8th.

 

Family Mass Children’s Liturgy Group

The group will start again for the Advent season on Sunday 2nd December at the 11.30am family mass. All children and their parents are welcome to this child-friendly service in the day chapel. New volunteers also required – if you are interested please come along or leave name and contact number into the Parish Office.

 

2019 Planned Giving Envelope Distribution:

  • Thank you to all families who have contributed to the Planned Giving collection in 2018, which finances the upkeep of the Church and Parish properties.
  • The 2019 boxes are available at masses this weekend in the main porch.. Please give your name to the distributors who will then locate your particular box.
  • We invite new families, not currently contributing, to consider beginning their donation to the Parish in this coming year. This can be done either by the envelope collection or standing order. We would be delighted to receive your details as you leave the Church this weekend or through the Parish Office – contact details above.
  • The Parish financial statement for 2017 is also available.
  • The Share Financial statement for 2017 has also been sent to us from Archbishops house. It is available at the back of the Church in Newsletter form.

 

 

Christmas Book of Remembrance:

Names of our loved ones who have gone before us may be written in a special book which will be placed on display upon the Altar steps throughout the 12 days of Christmas. These names will be remembered at all Masses over the Christmas Season. Please note that no individual names will be called out from the Altar on the Christmas Eve and Christmas morning Masses. Envelopes will be available at the back of the Church for the Christmas List from next weekend. Please complete and leave back to the Parish Office or place in the Church Letter Box.

 

 

Christmas Mass Bouquet Cards:

The Parish office now has a beautiful selection of Christmas Mass Bouquet Cards in stock. If you are interested please drop in to see them. A Triduum of Masses will be offered during the Christmas Season for the intentions of all whose names are included.

 

 

Alliance of the Two Hearts:

Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. St. Maur’s Church Rush Friday7th December commencing with Mass of the Sacred Heart at 7pm. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will continue until midnight Mass at 12 O’clock and recommence after mass until 3am. Please join us for all or part of the Vigil.

 

 

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Every Sunday of Advent 2 – 5pm

 

 

Candidates for Confirmation

The Confirmation Candidates will continue their programme with the Julian Group on Tuesday 4th December. This week’s Scripture Reading will be : Pentecost (Acts 2:verses 1-4).

Rush Tidy Towns invite you to an informal evening in the Community Centre to share with you our ideas for how the Tidy towns movement can develop in Rush in 2019, and also to seek your views and ideas the meeting takes place at 8pm on Monday the 10th of December.
