Harvest Thanksgiving and Blessing of Pets
(Feast of St. Francis) Sat/Sun 3rd and 4th October
The church will be decorated for Harvest Thanksgiving next Sunday. The children preparing for sacraments will be bringing fruits to the church. We also kindly accept donations of any vegetables or fruits and local produce growing in Rush e.g. potatoes, cabbage, broccoli, honey, parsnips, tomatoes, lettuce etc. If you have any items to donate please contact parish office.
Blessing of Pets
Blessing of pets will take place after 11.30 mass next Sunday. Fr. Peter will be available to bless pets for up to 45 minutes after mass to celebrate Feast of St. Francis who is the patron saint of animals. All pets and owners are welcome. The blessing will take place outside main porch of church.
Feast of St. Therese of Lisieux
Thursday 1st of October is the Feast of St. Therese of Lisieux (the Little Flower). The blessing of roses to mark this feast day will take place at 9am mass. We hope to have roses available in church but you can also bring own. Please place before alter before mass.
Invitation from Jesus
Come adore the Lord in silent prayer all day Thursday from 7am – 10pm. Would you like to commit to a set hour or be on a substitute list or just come along any time during the day to pray in silent adoration. Leave name, address and phone number in post box.
Night Prayer of Reparation
To the two hearts of Jesus and Mary. Ever first Fri/Sat commences with Holy Mass at 8pm. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament till 3am. Holy Mass at 12am Midnight. Rosary, Confession, Silent Adoration, Nine Offices of the Sacred Heart etc. Please join us for all or part of the vigil.
Saturday Mass
The will be ONE Mass on Sat. 3rd Oct. at 7pm. There will be no 10am Mass. Confessions will be available at 6.30 on Sat evening.
Baptisms for Sunday 11th & 25th October
Preparation meeting on Wednesday 7th October at 7.30 p.m. Deadline for applications is Tuesday 6th October. Please note that godparents/sponsors must be baptised Catholics and over 16 years of age. See the parish website for information.
Emigration Sunday
Emigration Sunday, (Sunday 11th October) is whereby we remember in prayer those who have emigrated. A small display will be available in church to remember those who live far away.

St Maur’s Youth Choir
St. Maur’s Youth Choir are looking for new members of secondary school age. Practice is every Tuesday night in the church from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. We sing at Mass every second Sunday. We also like to visit nursing homes and children’s hospitals during the year. If you are interested please contact Brenda on 0874173165 or come up on a Tuesday evening. Singers and musicians are all welcome.

FaithFest 7
The FaithFest team is planning their 7th FaithFest, a faith-inspired event for teenagers on Friday 2nd October. Teenagers will take part in dynamic workshops which will support their faith with other young people, workshops will examine questions around our faith; justice in today’s world, meditation and Scripture. As usual there will be music and toasted marshmallows!
